Recent Events

Birthday parties continue now on a monthly basis for our families. 1st Presbyterian Church comes on the second Sunday of the month and treats our birthday guest along with their family and friends to presents, cake and ice cream, games and lots of fun.

The holidays were upon us starting with Thanksgiving. Turkeys were donated to us by a most generous community with Startek being our biggest supporter. They donated 30 Turkeys and over 2200 pounds of food to us. With this food we were able to fill over 35 food boxes and give them out to our families in our Mesa Family Transitional Program and our Family Stability Program, along with several other families in the valley who just needed some help during Thanksgiving. We also had prepared meals for our veterans in our Phoenix Program.

Once again the community really pitched in and helped us at Christmas time. Santa Claus came and visited us at the shelter. Christmas carolers came, and again we had lots of food donated to us from several sources. We were able to help 40+ families celebrate the season by supplying them with gifts and food.

Journey HomeWe are preparing for our Journey Home fund raiser scheduled for February 13, 2010 at Tenacious Brothers Pub at 6:00 on 7th & Main Street in downtown Grand Junction.
